What I do ~~ My Thoughts

he collage works incorporate collected advertising debris from the Paris Metro and suburbs. Often, pieces of text are incorporated. Shapes and color are determined by the advertisement papers on hand. These specimens sometimes include bits and pieces of recognizable images abstracted to the point where their content becomes ambiguous.

My transfer prints combine representational and abstract forms that draw from collected snapshots, gradeschool papers, and advertising debris. I also freely borrow from dissected past works on paper (woodcuts and monotypes) and printed fabric.

The transfer prints allow me to use the unpredictable nature of this printmaking process in concert with collage and oil pastels.

The quality of disintegration in both the collages and transfer prints reinforce how fleeting our life images become both in our mind and in the paper images presented. Memories and meaning are pieced together, erased, and re-formed, by a bombardment of visual objects.
